!!!FELIZ DIA DE ANIVERSARIO!!!

Hey Mom and Dad

¡¡¡¡FELÍZ DÍA DE ANIVERSARIO!!!!! (I´m actually not sure if that´s how you say Happy anniversary, but I´d imagine it´s something like that :). Wow 29 years that´s so awesome. One of my favorite visuals to use during lessons is our family photo that we took in front of the Provo temple. It´s great to testify of the principle that the gospel blesses families as well as families can be eternal. Now, I´ll get to tell everyone how many years the Frome family has existed.
That´s fun that the ward got to hear about the missionaries too. And wow yeah that´s way awesome the lines you shared from the hymn. Hymns can be so powerful I thought too often when we are singing we miss the message that they have. So that´s neat you shared that. And that sounds like it was a fun activity that some of the families did to live off of food storage for a week. That would be pretty intense. It´s kool in every house the missionaries stay in there is one big 72 hour kit for each companionship. They always look old and worn out, it´d be interesting to see what they have in them. But on top there is the strict statement saying that we can´t open them without the president´s permission, lol.

But anyways, I´m glad you got my cards. Hmm that stinks about the one card not working very well. Yeah I´m not sure if it´s the one that didn´t work before. I suppose it could be. It might be a good idea to just throw it away after. It´s not worth the frustration dealing with it. I do have a copy of all the pictures here on a disk so if it is broken I have the pictures here. That would be sad though. Oh and so here are some pictures that we´ve taken. Both me and Elder Barrientos have realized that we´ve really kind of been slacking in taking pictures up to this point in our mission so we´re trying to take more. Here are some that we´ve taken. Saturday night we had a surprise visit by a giant leafy looking grasshopper type insect, lol. It was funny apparently it came flying in and looked like a small green bat. So we had fun taking pictures of that. Also there´s a picture with the mamita Valencia and her family that gives us lunch every Sunday. She is an awesome sister, lol. She has been a mamita for the missionaries for like 15 or 20 years so she has so many stories and has known so many missionaries it´s amazing. Plus, she´s just hilarious, lol. I´m gonna try to send 7 photos all together so hopefully they go through. There´s one of me and Elder Barrientos in the Zone Conference when we´re both dressed in suits so you can see a photo of Elder Barrientos.

But anyways, oh and that´s fine no worries about being busy with the election. That´s neat that you´re doing so much for it. Here I think it´s about election time because every now and then we´ll see a parade of cars go by honking horns with signs of some candidate, lol. Oh and before I forget yeah I´m doing good on sleep. It´s funny almost each time the alarm goes off at 5:30 I´ll hear it, but then feel so tired that I say to myself “man it´s so early! I´m only getting up if Elder Barrientos gets up. . . “ then I glance at Elder Barrientos bed and he´ll still be fast asleep, lol. I guess he doesn´t even hear the alarm most of the time.

But alright, well as for news here all is doing good. Nothing too exciting has happen this week. Just working and finding as usual. We´re finding a lot of good people and yesterday we had some in church that we hadn´t had yet which was awesome. We´re teaching one young man named Stalin and his dad is completely against the church so I guess he kinda snuck out to go to church, lol. But he´s 19 so it´s ok. Also Azalia we are also teaching and her parents are Jehovas Witnesses so that´s even harder. But somehow both came to church so it was great.

I think the experience that really caught my attention happened last night. We were looking for a family that a member gave us as a reference and we found a beautiful family of 4. The father is a member but hasn´t gone in 8 years. He had an 11 year old son and 8 year old daughter that are both very smart. I realized how clever they were when we were teaching and the kind of answers they gave us. We were teaching the first principles of how God is our lovenly father and the blessings that we´ve received in our lives. I asked the common question of “what are some of the ways we can show our love for our Heavenly Father?” I use that question often and almost always hear similar answers like we can pray, read the scriptures, go to church, keep the commandments, etc. But this time the answer that the 11 year old gave caught my attention. It was amazing he heard the question, thought for a second, then told us “by just being a good person.” A simple answer yet to me profound. He went on by saying for example we can help other people. I think it was something that too often we forget. One of the best ways we can ashow Heavenly father we love him is in the class of person we are. How we live and act. It was a good reminder for me, especially strong because it was given by a 11 year old.

All right well I´d better get going. Thanks for the email! I hope you have another great week! Love you!

Love,
Elder David Frome
